Please NOTE:
ALL Referees must complete EITHER the NFHS 'Concussion in Sports' OR the CDC Concussion 'HeadsUp' training every 3 years. We currently recommend the CDC class due to ease of use and time to complete. You MUST carry a copy of your Completion Certificate with you to all games AND the league must have an up-to-date copy on file.

Clearances and Background Checks

For you to coach or referee, PA law requires us to keep a copy of your background clearances. Our insurance and parent organization also requires you to take a concussion awareness class and, by 2020, the Safesport Child abuse training...

We need a copy of the following documents from you:

Here is what we need:

		PA Criminal HistoryClearance - https://epatch.state.pa.us/Home.jsp You must click on your record number to get the actual certificate.
		FBI Background Check - only if you haven't lived in PA for 10 consecutive years - https://www.identogo.com/ OR

Check with David McDermott or Kris Gager for the code to take the class.

Clearances are good for 5 years and the Concussion Certificate is good for 3 years and the Safe Sport Certificate for 2 years.

Please keep a copy of your clearances since they can be used at any school/volunteer activity and email a copy to me, Dave McDermott, at [email protected] ASAP.
